Preuss Athletics and COVID-19 Protocols


The Preuss School and UC San Diego Facilities Update

The Preuss School is enjoying being campus campus again, for 2021-22, after a full school year of remote learning.  Preuss Athletics has kicked off the fall season with Boy’s and Girl’s Cross Country and Girl’s Volleyball.  Both of these sports will be competing on the campus of UC San Diego for home contests.  Below are the current COVID-19 Protocols for the Main Gynmasium and Par Course, as set by the university.

Main Gymnasium (Volleyball)

  • All athletes must wear masks, both on the bench and on the court.
  • All coaches must wear masks.
  • Officials must wear masks.
  • There are NO SPECTATORS currently allowed.  This includes anyone who drove to the game.
  • There is a water bottle filler available for athletes.
  • There are restrooms available.

Par Course (Cross Country)

  • All race attendees must be masked if in close proximity of each other (six feet).  This includes athletes, coaches, and spectators.
  • Athletes are encouraged to wear masks at the startline of races.
  • Water must be brought into the Par Course.
  • Restrooms are about a ten minute walk, located at the RIMAC Fitness Center.  Masks are required inside RIMAC.

The Preuss School will continue to update COVID-19 Protocols as determined by UC San Diego.
